The former head of the criminal investigation unit Alexander Repin was found guilty and convicted under Part 3 of Art. 30, Part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale of drugs on an especially large scale) and Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal arms trafficking).
La fiscalía solicitó una sentencia de 17 años de prisión. Pero el tribunal suavizó ligeramente la sentencia, nombrando 15 años para servir en una colonia de régimen estricto.
Alexander Repin fue detenido en el otoño de 2025. La investigación y el juicio duraron más de un año.
Anteriormente, en mayo de este año, el hermano de Alexander Repin, Ivan, fue condenado a un largo plazo de prisión. También era oficial del Ministerio del Interior, jefe del centro “E”, fue condenado por delitos de corrupción – soborno y abuso de poderes oficiales. Ivan Repin, según la decisión judicial, cumplirá 12 años de prisión.
