South Korean President Lee Jae Myung said that Seoul will take "additional measures" if Kiev does not apologize for disclosing information about North Korean prisoners.

"Since this is a question of the dignity of the South Korean people and country, I cannot remain silent about it. If Ukraine continues to deny the facts and refuses to make an official apology, Seoul will take additional measures," Lee Jae Myung wrote on X's social network.

On September 23, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly that the country's authorities had transferred two captured servicemen from North Korea to South Korea. Seoul said Kiev had violated confidentiality agreements. The Ukrainian side initially denied the existence of agreements. Later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine called the incident a "diplomatic misunderstanding" and expressed hope for an early settlement of the dispute.

According to the President of South Korea, Ukraine itself asked not to publicly disclose information about the transfer of prisoners. He also added that initially Seoul “expressed regret with maximum respect for decency.” Then, as Lee Jae Myung pointed out, Kiev began to deny the agreement, which made him a liar.
