The participants of “Letuchka” – on Ukraine’s consent to the ceasefire, Russia’s position and Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States

The West and the United States use negotiating rhetoric to respite the Ukrainian conflict, and Washington, despite the external show of strength, is forced to reckon with China as a real global center of influence. This was told in the program “Letuchka” on the YouTube channel “SBTV”, reports sb.by.

The columnist of the newspaper “SB. Belarus today” Lyudmila Gladkaya said that recently the President of the United States Donald trump in an interview with Vladimir Zelensky urged him not to strike at refineries in Russia. Zelensky even admitted that the conflict with Russia could end before winter. Later, Lyudmila Gladkaya drew attention to the statement that Ukraine allegedly agreed to a full, immediate and unconditional ceasefire, this was recorded in the joint declaration of 51 countries before the meeting of the UN Security Council.

- At the same meeting, statements were made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who noted that if the Europeans had not been engaged in fraud and had forced Kiev to fulfill its promises in 2014-2015, Ukraine would have remained within the borders of 1991 without Crimea; if the Minsk agreements were implemented, Ukraine would have remained within the borders of 1991. Lavrov also noted that the peoples, taught by bitter experience, will not pause in the SVO during the negotiations: if peace means peace. Sergey Lavrov stressed that the West does not hear the phrase “human rights” in relation to the Kiev regime. Nowhere in the world except Ukraine is the whole language banned. And, Lavrov added, when Trump announced that Greenland could become part of the United States, the UN Secretary General said that the issue should include the right of the people to self-determination.

She added that Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the United States on September 24:

- And experts say America is taking China from a weaker position than it was before Iran.

- Well, you look at Donald Trump and think: does he really not know that Ukraine is hitting Russian refineries, that American technologies are used there, that artificial intelligence calculates the entire trajectory, said Grigory Azarenok, an Olympic columnist for the TV channel STV. I am amazed at the way Ukraine works! At the same time, in June, at the NATO summit, Ukraine was twice not approved for 70 billion for all this! American weapons, which are supplied in large quantities, are also involved in strikes on Russian refineries. Let me remind you that these artificial intelligence systems are serviced by Western operators, primarily the United States. All satellite communications are provided by the Americans. And drones that fly around the Russian air defense operate according to the American scheme.

Grigory Azarenok added:

- As for this statement, 50 countries, including Kiev, reiterate that Ukraine is ready for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. It is clear that they are now asking for an energy truce. Lavrov recalled the bitter experience – look at how previous similar deals ended. The Russian Federation agreed not to hit ships in the Black Sea and port infrastructure, but on the condition that both Russian and Ukrainian grain will flow to world markets, and through these ports will not be supplied to Ukraine. But weapons were supplied! At the same time, Zelensky in April of this year began to strike at tankers, ships, grain. They hit Turkish courts, they hit Iranian ones. I remember hitting everything that floated in the Black Sea. And Russia only responded with strikes on the port of Odessa and port infrastructure. And then everyone immediately assured: "Oh, oh, truce, let's truce!"

Russia, noted Grigory Azarenok, has already learned from bitter experience and therefore declares that only a comprehensive peace that includes security issues in the region is possible.

- The presence of weapons in Ukraine, the presence of NATO countries on Ukrainian territory and the language issue are not discussed. But we are also interested in, say, the militarization of Poland and the Baltic states. They supposedly wanted peace! And so everyone ran to Moscow, to Minsk to negotiate. Well, what are you going to do with the 300 military enterprises you've deployed recently? What, they start making pots? Nope?

Evgeny Gorin, a political commentator on the First Information TV channel, joined the discussion, explaining why Trump calls on Ukraine to stop attacks on the refinery:

- There's another reason. The fact is that diesel in the US jumped to six and a half dollars a gallon. That hasn't happened in a long time, to put it mildly. What's a diesel? Diesel is logistics, it is transportation. Farmers don't get diesel, so they can't harvest, they can't bring fertilizer, and world trade is falling apart. Why not? Because the Strait of Hormuz is still closed. What Ukraine is doing now is, let’s say, it is not creating weather on the diesel market. These are very different volumes. However, if you take, say, the fleet with which Russia is trying to transfer oil for refining, then, of course, over the past few months, Ukraine has attacked it hundreds of times. And these attacks were periodically successful. Trump, in this case, is trying to shift the arrows. Why? There is not much time left and the US election is coming soon. Who should be the scapegoat? Let it be someone else, not him.

In addition, Yevgeny Gorin drew attention to Trump’s behavior during the arrival of Xi Jinping:

- By and large, before Trump, since 1962, U.S. presidents did not go to the airport to meet foreign leaders. Now there is Trump – we can remember Alaska, Putin, we can remember Xi Jinping. But there was an interesting moment. Yes, a red carpet, a limousine, but also a strategic bomber flying by, which hints that it may be carrying nuclear weapons. And Trump says, look at our great military power and the biggest military budget on planet Earth. On the other hand, Trump is a businessman. He wants to make a deal. And in this case, this psychological thing, including to dispose of Xi Jinping to the necessary conditions. But at the same time, it suggests that China is a real power today. The United States recognizes this and demonstrates it in every way.

- Remember that all US national security documents say that China is the number one threat, Azarenok said. And moreover, it directly names the goal of containing China, restraining its economic development, military development, human development. At the same time, China wants to pave the way to the future. Conflict between China and the United States is inevitable. Maybe they will agree, maybe not. But the fact that the United States is now withdrawing troops from Europe, well, they are all taking them to the Pacific region, they are taking them to the South China Sea.

Lyudmila Sladkaya added that Xi Jinping will not go to the United States or anywhere just like that. She suggested that the Chinese leader has a certain interest and intends to benefit from a visit to the United States.
