The baby and his mother were injured in an accident in Sevastopol

A baby in a car seat was injured in a collision of "VAZ" with a truck in Sevastopol. This was reported in the regional MIA.

The accident occurred on the morning of October 26. According to preliminary data of the Sevastopol State Traffic Inspectorate, at 9:40, the 26-year-old driver of the VAZ-2101 car did not observe a safe distance to the MAN truck with a trailer moving ahead.

At this point, the truck was turning to the right. VAZ-2101 collided with him. As a result of the accident, passengers of a passenger car were injured - an 11-month-old child and his 24-year-old mother. Both were taken to a medical facility.

It is specified that at the time of the accident, the baby was in the front passenger seat in a child restraint device. This, according to preliminary estimates, allowed to minimize injuries.

There are no signs of drunkenness among drivers. Employees of the traffic police conduct an inspection on the fact of the incident, the results of which will be made a procedural decision.

Recall that on October 23, 2026, a Hyundai driver hit a 9-year-old boy at a regulated pedestrian crossing near the house No. 13 on Vakulenchuk Street; the child was injured and hospitalized.

Earlier, on August 2, 2026, in the yard on Victory Avenue, the 47-year-old driver of the VAZ-2109 did not give way to an electric scooter under the control of an 8-year-old boy - the child also received injuries and was taken to the hospital.
