A new exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Russian Impressionism is dedicated to Peterhof, which is deservedly called the treasury of classical art of pre-revolutionary Russia. It is no coincidence that the introductory section of the exposition is stylized under the scattering of jewelry: gilded curls, crowns and double-headed eagles, porcelain and marble, painting in expensive frames. Against this background, the main treasure is the most inconspicuous. These are the historic white doors to Peterhof's main vault. In the mid-1960s, these doors were first opened by Vadim Znamenov, the main character of the exhibition. He dedicated 55 years of his life to the restoration of Peterhof.
