Since August, insurance companies have recorded 23 appeals from tourists vacationing in the Turkish hotel Bosphorus Sorgun, with similar complaints of poor health, told RBC in the press service of the Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT).
Tourists complained of vomiting, diarrhea and symptoms of gastroenteritis. At the same time, the PCT stressed that the treatments themselves do not allow to establish the cause of the deterioration and the source of a possible infection.
“To confirm the outbreak of infectious disease and determine its causes, the results of medical and sanitary-epidemiological studies are necessary,” the press service said.
The PCT recommended that tourists, when such symptoms appear, immediately contact the insurance company at the number indicated in the policy and follow the recommendations. If necessary, medical care is organized as part of an insurance policy.
In September, Rospotrebnadzor requested data from the Ministry of Health of Turkey after reports of acute intestinal infection among Russian tourists at the Nova Life Hotel in Alanya. In July, about 30 guests of a five-star hotel in Kusadasi were hospitalized with symptoms of food poisoning, after which experts took samples of water and food to establish the cause.
