The Belarusian delegation will hold a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the XII BRICS Parliamentary Forum, which will be held on October 26-27 in India under the theme “Strengthening the role of parliaments for people-centred development”. This was reported in the press service of the Council of the Republic, writes sb.by.

The Belarusian parliamentary delegation arrived in New Delhi to participate in the large-scale BRICS Parliamentary Forum. The Council of the Republic at the forum is represented by a member of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security Alexander Lukyanov.
During the intensive program of the forum, four plenary sessions are planned, as well as a profile meeting of the heads of the international affairs committees. Alexander Lukyanov will speak at the meetings of the forum and hold a series of bilateral meetings with the heads of parliamentary delegations of the member countries and partners of the association.
BRICS parliamentary forums are a key element of the parliamentary dimension of the organization, providing legislative support for the agreements reached, strengthening the principles of multipolarity and expanding inter-parliamentary dialogue. The National Assembly of Belarus has been actively participating in BRICS events since 2024.

The official status of a BRICS partner state opens up new horizons for foreign economic cooperation for Belarus, strengthens ties with the most dynamically developing world markets and actively participates in building a fair architecture of international relations.
