In Dudchinsk SDK held a lecture about the Russian nesting doll

In the Dudchinsky Rural House of Culture, an informative lecture was held dedicated to the birthday of the most recognizable symbol of Russia - the Russian nesting doll. Did you know that this beauty made her debut on October 24, 1900 at the World Exhibition in Paris?

It was there that visitors first saw an unusual wooden toy: a ruddy Matryona doll, inside which a whole family was hiding - eight more figurines. Rumor has it that it was on behalf of “Matryona” that the affectionate name “Matryoshka” appeared.

Since then, she has become a true ambassador of Russian culture and a symbol of Russia, recognizable all over the world. The participants of the lecture listened with genuine interest to the history and considered archival photographs. And in the final of the meeting, everyone with joy and creative excitement tried on the role of an artist, painting their own paper doll.
