In Voronezh, a man found in the garage almost 550 grams of a prohibited substance

A criminal case was opened against a 41-year-old resident of Voronezh after the discovery of a large batch of a prohibited substance in his garage. The total weight of the seized amounted to 549 grams. This was reported on October 23 in the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to police, bags of crushed substance were found during a search of a garage on Rosa Luxemburg Street. The examination confirmed that the contents belong to narcotic drugs.

During a conversation with law enforcement officers, the man said that he found a wild plant in the area of the reservoir. He collected it, dried it and stored it in a garage for personal use.

The criminal case was opened under part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for the illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs on a large scale, as well as other related actions. The maximum penalty under this article is up to 10 years in prison.
