In the Orel region convicted lawyer for attempted fraud

In the Orel region, the court sentenced a lawyer who tried to illegally receive payments from the federal budget. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 30, Part 1 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the press service of the regional IC, the lawyer defended the client under the agreement and received from his relatives 60 thousand rubles. Al mismo tiempo, ocultó el hecho de recibir dinero de la investigación. Al mismo tiempo, el abogado presentó una solicitud al investigador exigiendo pagar su trabajo con cargo al presupuesto estatal, como si hubiera sido nombrado abogado defensor por el Estado. La cantidad de pagos era de más de 37 mil rublos. Sin embargo, el plan criminal falló: el fraude fue descubierto a tiempo por los oficiales del FSB.

El tribunal condenó al acusado a una multa de 80 mil rublos. He was also banned from practise law for a year and a half. La sentencia aún no ha entrado en vigor.
