There is enough diesel fuel in Russia, but there is a slight shortage in the gasoline market, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at a plenary meeting in the Federation Council.
There is enough diesel fuel in Russia, but there is a slight shortage in the gasoline market, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at a plenary meeting in the Federation Council.
As for gasoline, we see a slight shortage in the market today. All necessary measures are being taken to cover it, he said.
Speaking at the Federation Council, Novak noted that the diesel fuel market is balanced and there is enough fuel. The ban on its export was extended for October, but the situation will be monitored, and in case of overproduction, exports will be partially allowed.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the authorities provided fuel for the autumn field work of farmers and fully covered the needs of the regions in the northern delivery. Once the fuel market is balanced, Russia will use only its own petroleum products and return to exporting gasoline. The ban is temporary, he added.
Since the beginning of September, gas stations have been temporarily allowed to sell fuel of ecological classes K2-K5.
In mid-July, Novak spoke about filling the Russian market with diesel fuel after the government’s decision to introduce a complete ban on its exports.
On September 1, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia had to repair about 10% of the damaged capacity of the refinery. The next day, Novak said that the situation on the fuel market became more stable after an increase in supplies from plants that were out of repair.
