On October 2, Minsk hosted a working meeting of Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Viktor Galanov with the delegation of the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by sb.by in the press service of the Belarusian Ministry.

The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region Oleg Alexandrin. It included representatives of the relevant departments of the region and the business community - Ecos Group of Companies LLC.
- The focus was on the prospects of bilateral partnership in the environmental sphere, the ministry said. The parties expressed mutual interest in developing long-term cooperation in key areas. Among them is the localization of the production of polystyrene foam (granulate) and the supply of appropriate equipment to the territory of Belarus. In addition, joint research and development work with the involvement of specialized scientific and research organizations was discussed.
The meeting participants paid special attention to the creation of a joint venture in the field of waste management - recycling, as well as the organization of cross-border movement of waste for subsequent disposal.
The meeting became an important platform for professional dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperation between Belarus and the Sverdlovsk region in the field of environmental protection and rational environmental management. MTZ and Sverdlovsk region outline new vectors of cooperation
