Golden antelope: masterpieces of animation on the coin
On September 22, 2026, the Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins "Golden Antelope" of the series "Russian (Soviet) animation":
- silver denomination of 3 rubles (catalogue no. 5111-0539),
steel with a nickel coating of 25 rubles (catalogue no. 5715-0005),
- from copper-nickel alloy with a color coating of 25 rubles (catalogue no. 5015-0084).
The cartoon “Golden Antelope” was filmed in 1954 by director Lev Atamanov based on Indian fairy tales. This is a beautiful and instructive story about a greedy raj and the friendship of a peasant orphan boy with a magical antelope who carved gold with a hoof blow. The cartoon was created by the method of frame-by-frame redrawing of film with real actors and scenery. Awarded the Cannes Festival and other international awards.
Description of the precious metal coin:
Silver coin with a face value of 3 rubles (the weight of the precious metal in purity is 31.1 g, the alloy sample is 925) has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 39.0 mm.
On the front and reverse sides of the coin around the circumference there is a protruding kant.
On the front side of the coin there is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, there are inscriptions: “Russian Federation”, “Bank of Russia”, denomination of the coin “3 RUBLE”, year of issue “2026”, designation of metal according to the Periodic System of Elements of D.I. Mendeleev, sample of the alloy, trademark of the St. Petersburg Mint and the mass of precious metal in purity.
On the reverse side of the coin there is a color image of the characters of the cartoon “Golden Antelope”; at the top left in the circumference there is a relief inscription “GOLD ANTILOPE”. Background images are made in the technique of laser matting.
The side surface of the coin is corrugated.
The coin is made of Proof quality.

Coins made of base metals with a nominal value of 25 rubles have the shape of a circle with a diameter of 27.0 mm.

On the front side of the coins there is a relief image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, above it along the cant there is an inscription with a semicircle "Russian Federation", framed on both sides by double diamonds, on the right - the trademark of the Moscow Mint, under the coat of arms in the center in three lines - the inscription "Bank of Russia", the denomination of coins "25 rubles", the year of issue "2026".
On the back:
- nickel-coated steel coins have a relief image of the characters of the cartoon "Golden Antelope"; at the top left in the circumference there is a relief inscription "GOLD ANTILOPE";
- coins made of copper-nickel alloy there is an image made in color of the characters of the cartoon "Golden Antelope"; at the top left in the circumference there is a relief inscription "GOLD ANTILOPE".
