In Tver, employees of the Department for Combating Cybercrimes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with representatives of the FSB, identified and eliminate an illegal communications hub operating from a rented apartment on Sklizkov Street.

According to operatives, the apartment was an 18.year-old girl who arrived from Chita, who installed a sim box with about 300 SIM cards of different operators and ensured its operation. According to investigators, the equipment was handed over to her by “employers”, and she regularly reported to remote curators and received remuneration for the maintenance of the node used by remote fraudsters.

During the search, SIM cards, GSM gateway, mobile phones, bank cards, a computer and a Wi-Fi router were seized. The suspect was detained, the question of a measure of restraint is being decided. A criminal case under part 3 of Article 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal use of a participantr traffic terminal or a virtual telephone station), the maximum penalty for which is up to six years in prison.

The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the criminal scheme, possible accomplices and persons affected by the actions of fraudsters.
