Buyers intensified against the backdrop of the start of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly (September 22-28), where the Russian delegation will be headed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, analysts at BCS World of Investments commented on the dynamics of the market.
“Investors in the coming days are waiting for geopolitical signals that may come from the UN General Assembly and relate to the Middle East and Ukrainian crisis, as well as relations between the United States and China,” said Elena Kozhukhova, an analyst at Veles Capital.
It is expected that during the UN General Assembly will meet the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States Vladimir Zelensky and Donald trump. According to Zelensky, the meeting with Trump “can change a lot.”.
Among the topics of the meeting between Trump and Zelensky, which the Ukrainian side stated, are further diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict with Russia, energy, the supply of air defense systems and the possible production of missiles in Ukraine for Patriot complexes under American license.
In addition, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are expected to meet.
The market is also supported by the growth of quotations of Gazprom, which has a large weight in the Moscow Exchange index (9.6%).
