The Russian allergy vaccine Allergarda, developed by the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA), will appear in civilian circulation in October. The head of the agency Veronika Skovtsova said on the air of the First channel.
“We plan already before the next dusting season, that is, starting from the end of October this year, to vaccinate several tens of thousands of patients, up to 60 thousand,” Skvortsova said.
During clinical trials, Allergard showed high efficiency. In 2025, with a high level of birch pollen in 25% of patients, allergy symptoms disappeared completely. The rest of them have decreased by six times. In 2026, the vaccine proved even more effective, reducing allergies by seven times and increasing the level of protective IgG antibodies in all trial participants, explained the head of the FMBA.
Among the main advantages of the Allergard vaccine are a small number of injections (5 instead of 30) and the effect on cross-allergic reactions. The vaccine is effective not only against birch pollen allergies, but also against associated food allergies, such as reactions to certain fruits and nuts, the agency said earlier.
The drug can be prescribed only by a doctor, following medical indications and examination results. The vaccine is intended for adults over 18 years of age and can be used to prevent asthma in allergy sufferers.
