According to the press service of the museum-reserve, farewell to Aksenova will be held on October 3, at 11:00, in the Assumption Cathedral of the city of Vladimir (Big Moskovskaya Street, 56).
Aksenova was born on March 13, 1931 in the village of Savino, Kovrov district, Ivanovo region. In 1954 she graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Culture (MGIK). Since 1960 she headed the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum. Under her leadership, the complex united several dozen architectural monuments.
The museum-reserve includes 56 architectural monuments. Among them are eight white-stone monuments of ancient Russian architecture, including the Assumption Cathedral in Vladimir, which in 1992 were included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
In 2010, Aksenova left the post of director of the museum-reserve and moved to the post of president, where she worked until July 2013. In 2014, Aksenova was awarded the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation. From 2014 to 2018, she worked as an adviser to the Governor of the Vladimir region Svetlana Orlova.
