“The Miller House is an integral part of the ensemble of one of the main squares of the Northern capital. We will do everything necessary to return this landmark to the city, Governor Alexander Beglov said.
The house where the fire occurred is located at: Isaac Square, 3. It is located opposite St. Isaac’s Cathedral at the intersection with Yakubovich Street.
The mansion was built in the second half of the XIX century, architect Ferdinand Miller.
According to him, in 2025, experts made a detailed report of the technical condition of the facility. Photofixation, measurements and archival materials that the city has, allow you to restore the building after the fire in its original form, said the Governor.
Beglov added that permission for complex repair and restoration work at the facility was issued before the end of 2028. To change this period, he stressed, neither the city nor the owner are planning.
The fire in the building on St. Isaac’s Square was extinguished for 11 hours. It began on the evening of October 1. As reported in the GU EMERCOM in St. Petersburg, the rank of the fire was raised to the third, and the burning area reached 2 thousand square meters.
On the fact of the fire, investigators opened a criminal case.
