"The cremation took place in the presence of only family and close friends in Arcaea," family friends said.
The location and date of the burial were not disclosed.
Marina Vladi, real name – Ekaterina Marina Polyakova-Baydarova, was born in 1938 in France in a family of Russian immigrants and began acting in films as a child. Widely known for her film “Witchcraft”, she later played in dozens of films in France, Italy and the USSR, including “Princess of Cleves”, “Plot for a small story” and “Dreams about Russia”. The actress met Vladimir Vysotsky in 1967, they married in 1970 and remained married until his death in 1980. Later, Vladi published a book “Vladimir, or Interrupted Flight”, dedicated to their joint life. In 2012, she was awarded the Pushkin Medal for her contribution to strengthening cultural ties between Russia and France.
The actress died on September 24 at the age of 88. The cause of death was a long illness, said the son of Vladimir Vysotsky Nikita. She lived more than 88 years – a huge life, did a lot, including for us, for everyone who cares about Vysotsky. We must remember her, be grateful to her, he said.
