A woman and five young children were hospitalized from a house on Gagarin Street in Balashov, Saratov region with signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. This was reported in the regional office of the investigative Committee (SK).
On the fact of sending carbon monoxide to six people, an inspection was organized on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements), the department said. The maximum penalty under this part of the article is up to two years in prison.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the incident could be a malfunction of gas equipment.
In July, five children in Chuvashia were poisoned by carbon monoxide after visiting a bath. All were taken to the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital. Their condition was assessed as satisfactory, there was no threat to life.
