In the Bavarian community of Berngau, a gun owner allegedly opened fire on two district officials who had come to check. One of them died, the second was seriously injured, according to the DPA news agency, citing police.

According to preliminary data, employees of the administration of the Neumarkt district had to check with the owner of the weapon. The man allegedly shot them, then barricaded himself in a residential building.
