Artillery at the Osipovichi training ground worked out a complex lesson with live shooting

As part of the combat readiness check of the Armed Forces, today, September 27, in one of the artillery brigades, servicemen and military personnel performed a comprehensive lesson with the 2S5 “Giacint-S” self-propelled artillery battalion and the 2A65 “MSTA-B” heavy howitzer artillery division with live fire. The course of practical actions was observed by the Chief Advisor of the Military Security Department of the State Secretariat of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Colonel Dmitry Kovalev and the Chief of the Missile Forces and Artillery of the Armed Forces - Head of the Missile Forces and Artillery Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Major-General Ruslan Chekhov.

Artillery worked out the accuracy of gun guidance, and also trained to occupy and change firing positions.

- Soldiers called up from the reserve after conducting direct fire training began to perform further tasks. According to the schedule of classes, complex classes with live firing with artillery battalions were held. We enter the coordination of the division after the coordination of calculations, compartments, platoons, artillery batteries. Only after that can the artillery battalions pass the exam, where we assess the readiness of the units for each issue worked out. I think all the soldiers are well prepared. People are charged, they perfectly understand what they are doing and why, the personnel is ready to perform any task.

- First of all, servicemen conscripted from the reserve not only gain vast experience, but also acquire new skills. We see this in the first stages of training, where the staff shows very good results. After all, in artillery, the most important thing is the coherence of calculations and all control cells. Therefore, at the end of combat coordination with artillery divisions, the brigade will go to the coordination of the artillery brigade, with which a comprehensive fire control lesson will be held. A review and tactical exercise will also be held at one of the sites in Belarus.

Control of all work of personnel of calculations of guns, transfer of commands and control of firing at the firing position are the main duties of the senior officer on the battery Egor Aksyonov. However, the emphasis is on avoiding inaccuracies during firing and violations of safety requirements, he stressed:

- Also, another important point in the work is the right choice of firing position, the time spent on its occupation. After all, from the speed of the senior officer on the battery and the calculations themselves, all the work of the division is formed. Therefore, I feel personal responsibility for each shot at the target - this is the main indicator of our professionalism.

Power and fire accuracy - their tasks at the Osipovichi training ground, together with artillery soldiers, were performed by conscripts from the reserve, who mastered and restored skills related to their specialty during a comprehensive combat shooting session. Among them is the commander of the fire platoon Alexei Kozlov. For the third time, the man takes part in military training and is convinced that the living conditions, the material and technical base of the army are only improving every year:

- I was there for the first time in 2013 and the contrast is evident. Now it is much easier to learn – there are various kinds of simulators, modern technologies are being introduced. I remember how recently the use of UAVs was a novelty for me, and now they play a special role on the battlefield. Therefore, for conscripts from the reserve, it is definitely necessary to participate in such events in order not only to preserve, but also to improve already acquired skills, as well as in practice to master new directions. All this knowledge is needed first of all to protect the country and its family.
