58,213 pensioners receive an old-age pension. Women among the recipients of old-age pensions are 42,144, men are less than 16,069, said Olga Stepanova, head of the social protection department of the Moscow district administration.
A comprehensive system of social services has been built to support this category of citizens. The territorial center of social services of the population provides pensioners with various assistance: delivery of food and medicines, assistance in payment for housing and communal services, paperwork, psychological consultations. For active longevity, interest classes, computer literacy courses and the School for Dementia Prevention are organized here.
Special attention is paid to the physical health of people of silver age. In the department of day stay TCSON there are 15 circles: yoga, aerobics, breathing gymnastics "Awakening", and in the warm season - Scandinavian walking. For people with disabilities of I-II groups there is a circle "Physical rehabilitation". In the Moscow physical culture and health center for pensioners opened budget sections on table tennis and adaptive physical education.
- Our task is to make the life of the older generation comfortable and active. We strive to ensure that every pensioner, regardless of health and life circumstances, felt care and could find a useful and interesting occupation for themselves, said Natalia Zharikova, Director of the Moscow District TCSON.
