According to the speaker, the epidemiological situation of ARI in the republic is assessed as controlled and stable, typical for the current period of the year.

- The circulation of non-influenza respiratory viruses is noted: parainfluenza, rhinoviruses, bocaviruses, adenoviruses and others, K. Ignatov noted.

The surge in the incidence of respiratory infections in Belarus is predicted in the traditional period for the country - in late January - early February 2027.

- Simultaneous circulation of non-influenza respiratory viruses, influenza and SARS-CoV-2 is expected. Virus A (H3N2) activity is projected to decrease in the coming season, predominantly circulating A (H1N1). As for influenza B, it is traditionally activated towards the end of winter or spring and can cause a second wave of incidence, said K. Ignatov.

Since October, a mass vaccination campaign against influenza has been launched, in which protective vaccinations are intended to cover at least 75% of the population at risk.

- These include children aged six months to three years and older, adults with chronic diseases and immunodeficiency conditions, persons over 65 years, pregnant women. As well as medical and pharmaceutical workers who are in institutions with round-the-clock stay, employees of state bodies that ensure the security of the state and the life of the population, the speaker explained.
