In “Minsktrans” told about the causes of failures of public ground transport

A resident of the capital told Threads about the unsatisfactory organization of the bus No. 175C and trolleybuses No. 29 and 61 and said that she was outraged not only by the transport that did not arrive on schedule, but also by the lack of information about it.

Another Minsk woman complained about the incorrect operation of the bus No. 130, which, according to the author of the branch, several times a week does not come in the morning and evening.

"@minsktrans official, can i edit the schedule of this route?" the woman asked the transport workers.

Minsktrans explained that failures in the schedule of ground transport during peak load hours are due to a difficult road situation, as a result of which the speed of public transport decreases and its travel time increases. Also, delays can occur for operational reasons directly on the line, which cannot be foreseen in advance.

- Electronic boards installed at stops, as well as the service "Virtual scoreboard", the link to which is located on the main page of the website minsktrans.by, provides information on the estimated time of actual arrival of vehicles at the stop, as well as the schedule of routes, the company explained. In cases of violations when driving along the route, the software and hardware complex recalculates the waiting time at the time the vehicle passes the previous stopping points, which is displayed on the scoreboard. In cases of delays in the movement of vehicles, technical and software tools do not allow to accurately calculate the downtime of transport in congestion, which is displayed opposite the route by the abbreviation “ZT” (“transport delay”).

As for the delays of trolleybuses No. 29 and 61 on Surganova Street and K. Chorny Street, they occur due to the traffic situation and reach up to 30 minutes. This information is displayed on the electronic board.

The company also commented on the video from Borovlyan, where on the morning of October 1, a large number of passengers accumulated at one of the stops due to the long absence of public transport.

- During periods of maximum load of the road network, the likelihood of traffic jams is high, which leads to delays in transport on routes, Minsktrans said.
