The project “Obelisks of the great feat” Publishing House “Belarus Today” was presented in Zhlobin

The memory of the heroes-winners of Belarus, who wrote their name in the chronicle of time, and their unprecedented feats is alive. It is passed on to new generations thanks to monuments associated with significant historical events. To what happened in the places of military glory, we are returned to the points marked by the multi-format patriotic project “Obeliski of the Great Feat”, which is implemented by the publishing house “Belarus Today” with the assistance of the Ministry of Education and the support of the general partner of JSC “ASB Belarusbank”.

A new address on the path of a popular project is Zhlobin. The city, like thousands of other parts of Belarus, suffered from the Nazi invaders, but thanks to the courage and strength of spirit, the soldiers and partisans survived. Residents of the city honor the feat of compatriots. It is also remembered by the young generation - students of the Metallurgical College, where a unique interactive exhibition with QR codes was located, after which you can get acquainted with the revived pages of the military history of Belarus.

The great creative message of the exposition was noted by the head of the advertising department of the publishing house “Belarus Today” Pavel Sukhorukov:

- There are thousands of monuments, obelisks, ennobled burial sites associated with the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Belarus, so the memory of the great feat is not lost. The Belarusians know at what price the Victory, a beautiful peaceful life and our independence have come to us, and they cherish all this. About three million of our countrymen did not survive the war years. Our project is dedicated to them – those who fought at the fronts and were in the rear, those who joined the partisans or remained a simple civilian, but loved their homeland.

The project is unique in that it helps to see a particular place associated with the war on the screen of a mobile phone. Never before has history been so close and tangible, says Vyacheslav Lipatkin, director of the Zhlobinsky Metallurgical College:

- We are grateful for the opportunity to get acquainted with the unique initiative of the publishing house Belarus Today. Students of our college contribute to the perpetuation of the memory of heroes – they enter the search teams, as volunteers remove monuments, carry the “Memory Watch”. That is why we value what they do in other cities of our country. We will gladly get acquainted with videos, photos and facts about a difficult time in our common history.

Third-year college student Daria Orgish visited many patriotic places. Each made the heart beat more often, the student reveals:

- Khatyn, Ola, memorial complexes "Brest fortress-hero", "Children - victims of war" in the agro-town of the Red Bank ... You can't hold back your tears when you're here watching documentaries on TV. It is bitter and insulting for all Belarusians who died innocently at the hands of fascist invaders. One of the most important holidays for me is Victory Day. I sing war songs after him.

In a solemn atmosphere, guests and students laid flowers at the memorial plaque of Colonel Spiridon Chernyugov, under whose command in the summer of 1941, the 117th Kuibyshev Rifle Division of the 63rd Rifle Corps of the 21st Army of the Red Army participated in heavy bloody battles on the Dnieper border. Having suffered great human losses, the fighters knocked out the enemy and liberated Zhlobin. The 154th Ulyanovsk Rifle Division under the command of Lieutenant General Yakov Fokanov, which conducted heavy defensive and offensive battles for the liberation and retention of Zhlobin and Rogachev, also contributed to the history of the city. Their students also honored and shared their secrets.

The great-grandfather of third-year student Ivan Kozhemyakin heroically showed himself on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War:

- My example in life is partisan Ivan Demidovich Shchedrenok. Born in the village of Plesovichi Zhlobinsky district. Like many peers, I dreamed of simple things - a happy family, prosperity and happiness of loved ones. But the war took everything. For the sake of salvation, he became a national avenger. For special merits, he was even transferred to scouts. He received the medal "Partizan of the Patriotic War" of the 1st degree posthumously.

Talking about the heroic ancestor’s feat, the guy admits that it is difficult for him to imagine what horrors soldiers, partisans and civilians faced during the war years:

The world that our grandfathers and great-grandfathers gave us is the greatest value. Each of us can learn, work and build our lives by making dreams come true. The lessons of history should not pass us by: only the youth, our generation and future generations determine what the future of the country will be, what we can achieve.
