The issue of implementing the state youth policy was considered at a meeting of the Minsk City Executive Committee on September 24, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev noted that the topic of youth policy is in the field of view of both the capital authorities and the state as a whole. The country has built a system of work in this direction, but there are issues that need to be addressed. In particular, personnel policy, educational work in school and family, as well as in colleges and universities, prevention of offenses and destructive activities, employment and consolidation of young specialists in workplaces, career guidance, development of student teams.

- How we will engage in educational work with young people, starting from an early age, largely depends on how our country will develop. Today, for example, a lot of attention is paid to the employment of young professionals, but they are not always fixed in their first jobs. We must create conditions for young people to feel comfortable and confident in their first teams, and the position of the head of an enterprise or organization plays a significant role in this, he said.

The main aspects of the implementation of youth policy in the capital were highlighted by the head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee Alexander Lukyanov. He stressed that work with young people should be carried out at enterprises of all forms of ownership.

Minsk is the most youthful region of our country. Almost 400,000 people under the age of 31 live here. And this fact must be taken into account in the work of the vertical of power. This year, Minsk was declared a youth capital. As a result, all educational institutions and enterprises of the city joined the work. Minsk has offered a number of innovations, including at the district and city levels. These are thematic career guidance events, forum platforms, where there is an opportunity to communicate with the leadership of the city, ministries and departments, with senior officials. Next year, the city will become the youth capital of the CIS. This is a very high responsibility, he said.

Lukyanov called the “Minsk Shift” the key projects in the field of youth policy, the forums “Action Time” and young civil servants, the projects “Leader of the Future” and “Mood – Summer” at the Sports Palace. He also noted the role of the Minsk-Novosti agency in the implementation of information projects aimed at the youth audience.

A. Lukyanov touched upon the topic of the construction movement. So, from the beginning of the year to September 21, 24,618 people were employed as part of 1,642 student detachments, which is 4 thousand more than in the same period of the past. Of these, 6,745 are minors aged 14 to 18, up from 5,078 last year. For the first time, the Minsk city interdisciplinary labor project “Bread-2026” was organized to involve young people in agricultural activities. As part of six student detachments, 60 people carried out wheat harvesting, flour production, bread production and its sale in the branded stores "Caravai".

The driver in the implementation of the state youth policy is the NGO “BRSM”. As of the first of September, the Minsk City Organization has 1,285 primary members with a total of 151,025 members. The increase in the number for 2026 amounted to 13,813 people.

The work of the Youth Council under the Minsk City Council of Deputies was told by its chairman Vladislav Demidenko.

- Youth councils exist in the administrations of all districts of the city. Participation in their activities develops leadership qualities, helps to express their point of view, put forward initiatives, improve the life of the city. Thus, the youth initiated the creation of an alley near the Frunzenskaya metro station, holding an international forum of young parliamentarians. A large-scale project on youth blood donation is underway. Today, we aim to ensure that the activities of the councils are joint, have common goals and objectives. We will invite them to our events, to participate in the activities of the districts. This will create a single youth space in Minsk, he shared his plans for the future.

During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrey Strigelsky also spoke. He noted the steady dynamics of interaction with young people in many areas. However, he stressed the serious issues that needed to be addressed. This is work with young people living in dormitories, both workers and students. Conditions should be created here not only for comfortable and safe living, but also for leisure. A. Strigelsky drew attention to the involvement of the maximum number of young people in the student squad movement and socio-political events, as well as the need for more active actions on the part of youth councils on the ground.
