A delegation of students and teachers from the Ulyanovsk region arrived in Minsk on a two-day visit. On September 30, they visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, a correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
Talented young people from the Russian region come to Belarus for the second year in a row on the initiative of the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexei Russian. The delegation includes schoolchildren, college students and students of the Pedagogical University aged 14 to 18 years. These are the activists of the First Movement, the youths of Post No. 1, as well as prize-winners of the military-patriotic game Guardsman of the Volga Federal District.

According to Marina Alekseeva, Director of the Department of Education, Additional Education and Socialization of Children of the Ministry of Education and Education of the Ulyanovsk Region, the main goal of the project is patriotic education and the study of general history:
- Our visit began with the Gomel region. The children visited the memorial complexes “Ola” and “Red Coast”, got acquainted with the memorial of Operation Bagration. These places leave no one indifferent. Today is a busy day in Minsk: we have already visited the Educational Security Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where the children were clearly shown algorithms of actions in emergency situations, and now we are getting acquainted with the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War. Veterans and witnesses of these events are becoming less and less, so our task is to convey the true truth to young people. Together with the brotherly Belarusian people, we will definitely succeed.

There are also young reporters covering each stage of the trip. Tenth-grader Alexia Nagornova and eighth-grader Vasily Shabanov represent the regional school of young journalists. They conduct video shooting at each location and prepare the final story.
- For the first time in Belarus, the impressions are warm. Minsk surprised with its cleanliness, coziness, open and friendly people: we are often waved in response directly from the windows, Shabanov said.

- In the school curriculum, we study the history of our country in detail, but to learn more about the feat of Belarusians is a rare and valuable opportunity, Nagorva added. The Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War is striking in scale. We understand that there are emotionally difficult halls ahead, but this story must be known and remembered.

The 11th grade student of Nikolaev secondary school Ulyana Andreeva also shared her impressions:
- I travel a lot to the regions of Russia, but coming to Belarus is a special honor. We visited many memorials and saw the harsh ordeals of this land. Our common military history and historical memory is what truly unites our peoples today.

During the tour, the children got acquainted with the exposition dedicated to the beginning of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War, defensive battles on the territory of Belarus, the Nazi occupation regime, the guerrilla movement and the underground, the liberation of the republic and its post-war restoration. In the halls, students saw personal belongings of front-line soldiers, partisans and underground fighters, letters, photographs, documents, weapons, uniforms and military banners.

After the tour, the delegation went to the National Library.
