A charity event “Respect” was held in Mogilev. Care. Responsibility" dedicated to the Day of the elderly. The event was organized on the initiative of the primary organization of the Belarusian Union of Women of the Military Unit 6713 of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and was held with the support of the brigade commander Colonel Vladimir Plavan.

The BSJ asset together with representatives of the military-patriotic club “Defender” visited four veterans of the law enforcement forces. The organizers paid special attention to retired Lieutenant Colonel Nikolai Gorodov. He devoted almost 60 years to service in the internal troops, stood at the origins of the creation of the veteran organization of the compound and for a long time headed it. Under his leadership, a structure was clearly built, recognized today as one of the foremost in the internal troops.
Also, the participants of the action visited the former commander of the unit, retired Colonel Nikolai Velikanov, currently the chairman of the veteran organization, retired captain Sergei Bogomolov and retired senior warrant officer Nikolai Boltushko.
Coordinator of the BSJ military unit 6713, head of the legal support department Lieutenant-Colonel of Justice Irina Sapronenko stressed:
- All veterans are honored people of respectable age, of which the brigade is proud. Such events are held in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and internal troops traditionally. Every year we visit those who especially need care and warmth. We help to restore order in the house and in the garden, bring treats and gifts. But most importantly, we are always there to listen, support and say the warmest words.
The current delegation, in addition to Irina Sapronenko, included the head of the psychological work service of the brigade, Captain Tatiana Borovikova, the head of the club, Lieutenant Anastasia Sheida, as well as pupils of the military-patriotic club “Defender”, which unites students of grades 7-11 of Mogilev schools.

- The day of the elderly helps to draw attention to the problems of the older generation. This holiday is designed to remind about their contribution to the development of society and strengthen the bond between generations, says Anastasia Shevtsova, a student of secondary school No. 28.
Freshman of the club Ariana Nikiforova from secondary school No 7 reasoned as follows:
- It is very important to please veterans, to show that we remember and appreciate their work. In the future, I want to connect my life with the service in uniforms, so today’s action for me is also an opportunity to ask the older generation for advice on how best to act in difficult situations and develop in the profession.
Nikolai Savelyevich Gorodov expressed gratitude for the visit and emphasized the special importance of preserving historical memory:
- It's always nice to have guests. The connection of generations should not be interrupted, because we have much to give each other. Attention and warm meetings are important to us, and we, in turn, convey wisdom and life experience to young people. As world events show, patriotic education must be practiced continuously, and history must be told honestly. Today, Belarus has a systematic approach to this issue: commanders have assistants for military-patriotic work, appropriate positions have been introduced in schools, and a whole network of military-patriotic clubs has been created. I am regularly invited to speak in front of the guys, to talk about the generation of winners, including my father, who reached Koenigsberg and restored Minsk. Looking at these burning guys, I am calm for the future of our country. They will preserve and increase what our fathers worked and fought for.
