In 2025, residents of 160 countries applied to Belarusian doctors, the export of medical services for 5 years increased by 1.5 times

Medical tourism as a separate direction of the tourism industry of Belarus deserves special attention, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Yuri Seliverstov said, speaking on September 28 at the international practical conference of the club of leaders of health tourism “Dialogues of skill”. Experience of sanatorium and resort organizations of Belarus and Russia, reports sb.by.

Currently, there are 285 health resorts in Belarus, including 95 sanatoriums that have confirmed their categories according to the results of state certification. Sanatorium and health tourism are the most popular destinations in Belarus for citizens of the Russian Federation, Yuri Seliverstov stated.

- In 2025, medical tourism grew by 37 percent. Residents of 160 countries of the world turned to Belarusian doctors for help. In general, over the past 5 years, the export of medical services has increased by 1.5 times, the Belarusian ambassador to Russia said.

The diplomat added that in 2025, 260 thousand foreigners visited Belarusian health resorts, of which 93.5% are Russians. The demand for services of Belarusian sanatoriums for 5 years has increased more than 3 times.

- The Belarusian system of sanatorium-resort treatment faces the task of increasing the bed fund until 2030, each owner has been informed of the relevant indicators. In this regard, the construction of new facilities and the reconstruction of existing ones are planned for the next five years.
