The Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev and the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Alexei Russky spoke about mutually beneficial cooperation on September 29, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
The visit of the delegation of the Ulyanovsk region to Belarus continues. On this day, the Head of State met with A. Russians. After the meeting, the heads of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and the Ulyanovsk region shared their plans for the future.
- Systematic work has been built between our regions, which covers many areas and industries. We are also finding new points of contact. Business representatives have specific proposals. Currently, a business mission representing 20 companies operates in our capital. And we are ready to create all conditions for meetings, acquaintance with our enterprises and further interaction, which opens up new opportunities, Kukharev said.
The Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee assured that the Belarusian side will do everything possible to implement the agreements reached. At the same time, work will continue in the already familiar directions.
- This includes aircraft industry, cooperation with our OJSC INTEGRAL, and youth interaction. A delegation of 50 talented children arrived in Minsk. They visit landmarks, get acquainted with the history of the city. And next year we will send representatives of Minsk youth to Ulyanovsk, he added.
V. Kukharev also thanked personally A. Russians and the administration of the Ulyanovsk region for interaction, which leads to significant results for the benefit of our countries.
- Collaboration over the past years has led to serious results. The dynamics of our trade turnover is breaking all records: in 2025, compared to 2024, an increase of 15%, in the first half of this year, compared to the same period last year, by 42%. Industrial cooperation between enterprises of the Ulyanovsk region and almost all regions of Belarus is developing dynamically. 69 enterprises already have signed contracts with each other, deliveries are underway. This is the aviation industry, and the automotive industry, and the machine tool industry, said A. Russkikh.

It is planned to create a joint venture for the production of the so-called Union machine. This idea was voiced by A. Russians at a meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
I am sure that the competencies of Belarusian and Ulyanovsk machine tool builders will complement each other, and we will build a high-quality machine tool that will compete in foreign markets. There are also plans to develop cooperation in the railway industry. The Ulyanovsk region is ready to offer maintenance, repair and production of track machines, which are necessary for the Belarusian railway, he announced joint plans.
Among the already traditional areas of cooperation are mutual food supplies, the expansion of tourist flows, interaction in the fields of sports, medicine, in particular, oncology.
At the last meeting of the working group, which took place in Ulyanovsk, the parties identified priority areas of cooperation and signed a bilateral action plan for 2027-2028 on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation.
