In the Ministry of labor explained how paid sick leave in the absence of a doctor’s appointment

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection explained how the temporary disability benefit is calculated if the employee presented a sick leave with a violation of the regime, in particular, did not appear for an appointment with a doctor. This sb.by reported in the press service of the Ministry.

The ministry said:

- In this case, the hospital itself is not canceled. However, if it indicates a violation of the regime due to non-appearance, the amount of the benefit will be reduced. From the date of the violation, the benefit is granted in the amount of 50 percent of the calculated amount.

The department added: for what period such a reduction is applied, the commission determines the appointment of benefits at the place of work. For example, if an employee was sick from 1 to 10 September and did not appear at the reception on 5 September, and the Commission set a reduction for only one day, then for 1-4 September, the benefit is appointed in the usual amount, for 5 September - 50 percent, and from 6 to 10 September - again in the usual amount. If September 5 in the disability certificate is not specified as the day of release from work, the benefit for this day is not appointed.
