BRSM BNTU volunteers helped 85-year-old resident of the capital to restore order in the courtyard

Within the framework of the republican youth marathon “Dobro.Bel”, which BRSM launched this year, participants continue to perform thematic tasks in certain areas on a monthly basis. October is dedicated to the attention of the older generation. Today, on October 2, a volunteer active of the Belarusian National Technical University joined the Dobro.STARSHIM campaign - the guys provided targeted assistance to an 85-year-old resident of the capital, writes sb.by.

Konstantin Felixovich Stankevich was born in the Minsk region and at the age of 15, he and his family moved to the capital. The man has a rich professional path in the capital's industries - only 42 years of seniority. Before the army, he was a plumber-driller at one of the city factories, after graduating from the evening technical school - an electrician and an engineer-adjuster at the Minsk plant of counting machines named after G. K. Ordzhonikidze, where he worked for 38 years in total, he said:

- I have been retired for 26 years and have been living alone for a year. This year, the legs have become especially difficult, I am afraid even to cross the street. Therefore, active hobbies and most household chores are no longer within my power - now I am mainly engaged in small chores, but I also cook myself. She visits her daughter, who is also constantly in touch with her second daughter and grandchildren who live far away. And every Wednesday, a social worker comes to me, cleans the house, goes to the store for groceries. Just the social worker and told me that I can also help volunteers BRSM. The news was glad, because such support is very useful: work on the site near the house is always there and hands will not be superfluous.

Volunteers of the Belarusian National Technical University Konstantin Felixovich provided all the necessary tools. The guys put the territory in order - swept the asphalted paths in a thief, collected leaves and freshly cut grass. Students are not afraid of work, the man admitted after:

- You can see that they can hold a broomstick and rake in their hands - they quickly and efficiently brought beauty to the yard, and after that even the tool was neatly put in place. All my requests were met. And I am very pleased that the young guys did not leave without attention, we sincerely talked and had a useful time. I believe that it is especially important for guys to instill a love of hard work as early as possible, to accustom them to the kindness and respect of older people. Good deeds are always valued in the workplace and in family life. Therefore, I am sure that such qualities will be useful to them in life.

When you see the result of the work, the soul becomes warm, confirmed third-year student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology of BNTU Maxim Khodko:

- We tried to create beauty and comfort in the courtyard of Konstantin Felixovich, so that the eye would rejoice and remember us. We will be happy to help him again when necessary. I have long been in the ranks of BRSM and in the volunteer movement feel necessary and useful. I have grandparents myself. And I would be very happy for my relatives, to whom the young guys will bring a bag somewhere or give up a place in transport.
