Belarus defeated San Marino in the match of the League of Nations

In the third round of the Football League of Nations, the Belarusian national team won a major victory over a rival from San Marino - 4: 0, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Both teams in the current Nations League draw did not know the taste of victories. Thus, representatives of the dwarf state lost to the Finns (0: 7), and then lost to the Albanians (0: 3). The Belarusians in the previous two rounds also did not score a single goal. However, one of the matches was reduced to a draw - 0: 0 with the team of Finland. And there was a defeat by the Albanians (0: 2).

The Belarusians have now tidied up the initiative and began to besiege the gates of the San Marino national team. Trofim Melnichenko had a couple of opportunities to score. The most real happened in the 22nd minute, when after the canopy from the corner Melnichenko hit his head. The ball from the crossbar, rebounded to the goal line, but did not completely cross it. The meeting's chief referee, Alexandros Tsakalidis, launched the VAR (Video Arbitrator Assistance System) protocol, but he revealed that the goal was indeed not there. The San Marino national team fought back well and rarely made an attack. However, at one point the Belarusians helped goalkeeper Pavel Pavlyuchenko.

In the second half, the guys of Viktor Gancharenko needed only 40 seconds to score. Kirill Pechenin scratched the ball on the left flank and gave it to the center of the penalty area, where Artem Kontsevoy was. The midfielder improved the situation and accurately punched into the corner (1: 0). After that, the opponent seized the initiative and only thanks to the crazy saves of Pavlyuchenko, the team managed to keep the gates locked. For about 15 minutes, the team of San Marino acted as the first number and noblely strained the defense of the team from Sineokoy. But the goal from Artem Shumansky cooled the fervor of the national team of the dwarf state (2: 0). Less than three minutes passed, and Max Ebong brought the score to a major - 3: 0. Note that during these three captures of the gate, Pechenin gave goal passes. The meeting went into play-out mode. In the end, the guys Gancharenko managed a dashing counterattack, in which Kontsevoy scored a double - 4: 0. The team continues to struggle to reach the playoffs. To do this, you need to take a place in your group not lower than the second.
