"The price of the medal is huge!" Lyubov Cherkashin answered whether “hothouse” children can become champions
The winner of the Olympic Games talked about the difference between generations, comfortable training conditions and the huge team that stands behind every sports star.

Trips to train on trolleybuses brought up independence in previous generations of gymnasts, but improving the living conditions of modern children should not prevent them from winning medals. About this on the air of the program "Markov". Nothing personal" on ONT said the head coach of the national team of Belarus in rhythmic gymnastics, winner of the Olympic Games Lyubov Cherkashin.
Lyubov Cherkashin: I am not a supporter of comparing what happened and what became, but I am very glad that it became better. That's the main thing. And I am very happy for myself, for my history, that my parents gave us the opportunity to develop and move. I loved those trolley buses! Driving: slept, overslept, ran... There was some independence in this. I am not at all upset that I had this. It shaped me. Modern children are shaped differently. They will not think about what happened, they live in the here and now. If now we and our parents have done everything to ensure that the generation that is now being brought to the hall lives in comfort, that is great. We're good. The main thing is that they understand that. That is, we did everything in order to simplify their lives at some point, we improved it. How much they can use these improvements is another matter. This is about whether they succeed, whether they have enough strength, whether they have time to educate the firmness of spirit that is needed. The price of the medal is very high. And it only seems that this is the merit of one person. The price of the medal is huge because there is a huge team behind it. And this huge team believed in one person, that everything would work out. But if one fails, the whole team also goes down and starts from scratch. The time will come, the gymnast will come and grow up who will understand and do it. And so at the very beginning, when we set up groups, then everything is weeded out, weeded out - and there is the strongest who can do it. And even this strongest can now be carried by car and in excellent conditions.”.
