“Masterpieces of the world opera” in Smolensk: an evening when music creeps to the chills

In Smolensk, the concert “Masterpieces of World Opera” was held, which gave the audience unforgettable emotions. Laureates of international competitions and soloists of the philharmonic society performed on the stage: Lyubov Kashkova, Lyudmila Kaminskaya, Evgeny Mishutin, Alexander Ilyushchenkov, Olga Kuzmina and Georgia Katsivelu.

The evening was distinguished by a powerful sound: dramatic sopranos, velvety tenors and deep basses filled the hall, and accompanied by vocalists Smolensk Russian Folk Orchestra named after V.P. Dubrovsky under the direction of maestro Igor Kazhdan.

The program included legendary arias and duets from the immortal works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. Fragments from the operas “Don Giovanni”, “The Magic Flute”, “La Traviata”, “The Power of Fate”, “Rigoletto” and “The Royal Bride” were heard.

The organizers expressed great gratitude to the audience for the full sold-out, loud applause and burning eyes, noting that this evening will forever remain in the hearts of artists.
