Production of freight cars for eight months decreased by 27%
In January-August 2026, 27,614 freight cars were produced in Russia, follows from the data of the Association of Railway Machinery Manufacturers. This value is 27% lower than in the eight months of 2025. The most popular nomenclature in the reporting period were tanks: a total of 12,390 such cars were produced, 7% more than a year earlier. The enterprises also produced 9,924 gondola cars (-42% yoy), 3,266 covered cars (+49%), 1207 hoppers (-52%), 524 platforms (8 times less), 205 isothermal cars (+5%) and 95 dump trucks.
