The Central Bank reported on the growing volatility of the ruble
The Bank of Russia records a tendency to increase the volatility of the foreign exchange market at the end of summer. This is stated in the “Review of risks of financial markets” prepared by the regulator for August 2026, the range of fluctuations in the dollar rate amounted to 8.2% (79.46-85.95 rubles) against 5.2% in July. For the yuan, the spread was higher – 8.5% (11.77-12.77 rubles) against 5.9% for the previous month. Quotes of both currencies changed by an average of 5.9% over the previous 12 months.
