Sber experts noticed the hawkish rhetoric of the Central Bank of developed countries
The policy of central banks in developed and developing countries after the start of rising energy prices began to differ greatly, according to the report of the Center for Macroeconomic Research (CMI) “Sbera”. Amid fears of secondary effects of inflation, the rhetoric of the Central Bank of developed countries has sharply toughened. A hawkish attitude – a policy that prioritizes containing inflation even if it slows economic growth – has grown the most in the US Federal Reserve and the Bank of England, the report said. Experts also include the Norwegian Bank, the Reserve Banks of Australia and New Zealand, and since the beginning of 2026, the ECB. At the same time, emerging-market central banks such as India, Brazil and Mexico remain neutral.
