Russia is ready to continue dialogue with foreign partners to develop common rules for international trade, primarily at the World Trade Organization (WTO), Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov told TASS following the G20 meeting in Milwaukee.
For our part, we emphasize that Russia’s economy remains open, we have successfully reoriented our foreign trade and found new partners with whom we are building mutually beneficial cooperation ties. We are ready to continue the dialogue, first of all, at the WTO, in order to develop common rules for international trade, Reshetnikov said.
The G20 meeting was held in Milwaukee from September 30 to October 1 and focused on international economic development and trade. The United States holds the presidency in 2026.
The G20 summit will be held in Miami on December 14-15.
Earlier, Russia’s proposals on food supply formulations were taken into account at the G20 meeting on trade and economic development in Milwaukee. The meeting agreed to condemn the use of food trade for political purposes. Food trade included food, fertilizer, chemicals, seeds and trade-related services, including freight and insurance.
