Taxi and car sharing operators in Moscow received 450 million subsidies

The Moscow authorities this year allocated taxi and car sharing operators 450 million rubles for the development of services. Subsidies allow companies to partially offset the cost of purchasing cars. This is reported by the official telegram channel of the capital deptrans with reference to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.

The Moscow government has been subsidizing the purchase of taxi cars since 2012. In 2018, the program was extended to car sharing operators. Support is intended for partial reimbursement of the cost of purchasing machines, and not for full payment of their cost.

According to Liksutov, for the entire duration of the program, taxi companies received more than 2.9 billion rubles and purchased more than 94 thousand cars. In turn, car sharing services were allocated 1.6 billion rubles, during this period they bought 66.5 thousand new cars.

“On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, since 2012, we have been issuing subsidies to taxi companies to compensate for part of the costs of buying cars,” Liksutov said. Thanks to this support, Muscovites carry modern and reliable cars.

According to the statistics of the Moscow deptrans, there are now more than 88,000 yellow taxi cars in Moscow. The average delivery time of the machine is four minutes. The number of cars purchased by taxi companies during the subsidy program exceeds the current number of yellow cars in the capital.

The situation is similar in the case of car sharing services, where about 42 thousand cars are currently represented. Users are available including electric cars, spacious crossovers and premium cars.
