Resident of Technopolis Moscow has developed a Russian chip for communication
Angstrem, a resident of Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), has created a chip for data transfer between electronic devices.
Angstrem, a resident of Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone (SEZ), has created a chip for data transfer between electronic devices. The chip is fully manufactured in Moscow and is designed to replace foreign analogues. This was stated by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
The company has already submitted documents to include the development in the register of Russian industrial products. The chip is designed for industrial automation, energy, security systems and urban infrastructure. Its task is to combine electronic devices into a single network for data transmission and processing.
The new chip works on the RS-485 protocol, which is used to communicate devices in industrial systems. The chip is resistant to interference and provides data transmission over long distances. The development is fully produced in the capital using Angstroma’s own technologies and is designed to replace foreign analogues, the supply of which is difficult. The product can be integrated into existing technical systems.
The development is designed for use in intelligent sensors and measuring devices. Among other areas of its use are communication, security and automatic control systems at industrial enterprises. In particular, the chip is designed for equipment in factories where precise process coordination and data exchange between electronic devices are required.
On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the city is developing microelectronics as one of the key areas of the country’s technological sovereignty, said Deputy Mayor Liksutov. Today, more than 40 companies create advanced components in the capital’s SEZ. The new chip is fully manufactured in Moscow using its own technologies and replaces complex foreign analogues.
Since the beginning of this year, Angstrom has developed 114 types of products. Two of them are already in production. In total, the company produced more than 10 thousand types of chips for key sectors of the Russian economy - from telecommunications to space.
Special economic zone "Technopolis Moscow" in 2026 celebrates the 20th anniversary of its foundation. Currently, more than 250 high-tech enterprises operate on ten sites of the zone with a total area of 430 hectares. They produce products in the fields of not only microelectronics, but also instrumentation, biomedicine, information technology, robotics and many others. Earlier, the Moscow authorities reported that one of the residents of the special economic zone Technopolis Moscow for ten years of work produced more than 4 thousand products for resuscitation and intensive care, including artificial ventilation devices.
The city authorities consider the development of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone as one of the tools to support industry and produce domestic high-tech products. According to the city authorities, the work of SEZ residents is connected with the tasks of the national project “Effective and Competitive Economy”.
