The government has decided to extend the ban on diesel exports to manufacturers until November 2026. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to two sources familiar with the results of the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on September 14.
The current restrictions are in effect until September 30. According to one of the sources, the embargo is planned to be extended to ensure the supply of fuel to the domestic market. The representative of the Ministry of Energy noted that the decision was made taking into account the situation on the domestic market, production volumes, reserves, as well as the dynamics of demand.
A temporary ban on diesel fuel exports in Russia was introduced at the end of September 2025. Initially, it operated only for traders and refineries with a production volume of up to 1 million tons per year. In early July of this year, the government extended the embargo on all fuel producers for a month, later the government extended it twice. The exception is the import of diesel fuel under international agreements and humanitarian supplies.
