“Armani has a powerful heritage and an unmistakable design language.” I approach all of this with a deep sense of responsibility and enthusiasm as we build together on this rich foundation, defining a new era.
The appointment of Dario Vitale is the first since the death of brand founder Giorgio Armani in September 2025, when Armani Group hired a third-party specialist as creative director of one of its lines. The Emporio Armani brand is a subsidiary of the fashion house, which is positioned as a youth brand with more democratic prices than in the main line.
Dario Vitale is known for his work at Miu Miu and Versace fashion houses. From 2021 to 2025, he served as creative director of Miu Miu before moving to a similar position at Versace. Dario Vitale was the third creative director after Gianni Versace, who died in 1997, and his sister Donatella Versace. In March, she became the brand’s chief ambassador. Dario Vitale's first collection for Versace debuted in September. He resigned after less than a year in office in December 2025.
