The U.S. Treasury extended until October 22 the license allowing negotiations on the sale of foreign assets of the Russian oil company LUKOIL. The updated document was published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
The license applies to negotiations for the sale, alienation or transfer of Lukoil International GmbH, through which LUKOIL’s foreign assets belong. Previously, its validity was repeatedly postponed, most recently until September 19.
The United States imposed sanctions against LUKOIL and Rosneft, as well as a number of subsidiaries of these companies in October 2025. Subsequently, OFAC issued special permits to continue negotiations on the sale of foreign assets of LUKOIL.
