In August, Reuters, citing sources, reported that Russia allegedly redirected at least two batches of Kazakh oil from Ust-Luga to Novorossiysk. This measure was explained by the interlocutors of the publication by the need to release capacities to increase the export of Russian oil through the Baltic Sea against the background of attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea.
The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan said that Russia did not not notify them of the redirection of oil and the Republic supplies oil in several directions to maintain flexibility of supply “taking into account the current situation on certain routes.”.
