In the fourth quarter, the shortage of aviation fuel in Europe will be 510,000 barrels per day. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the forecasts of the consulting company Energy Aspects. Stocks of aviation fuel in Europe's largest hub for the storage of petroleum products Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp in the first half of September was 543 thousand tons - at least for the last seven years.
According to Energy Aspects, in the United States, the amount of fuel in the fourth quarter will correspond to demand (an excess of about 18,000 barrels per day), and in the Asia-Pacific region (APR) there will be a significant surplus of 419,000 barrels per day. Analysts of the company note that indicators in Europe, the USA and the Asia-Pacific region correspond to trends that were in the third quarter.
After the outbreak of the war in Iran, which disrupted supplies from the Middle East, Europe began to import more aviation fuel from countries such as Nigeria, Canada, the United States and South Korea. Recently, imports from the latter have been growing especially strongly - according to Kpler, in September, South Korea supplies Europe with an average of 129,000 barrels of aviation fuel per day. This is a record figure since 2022.
