Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said the agency had “accumulated immunity” to US sanctions. The Minister shared this assessment during the Moscow Financial Forum, answering the question of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin about the adaptation of the budget to sanctions pressure.
“You know, we have probably already accumulated immunity to all kinds of sanctions, hellish, not hellish. We are doing our own thing, and hellish sanctions, they bounce back, so to speak, from our financial policy, Siluanov said.
US President Donald Trump signed a law on “hellish sanctions” against Russia on September 19. Their project was developed by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (inscribed in the list of terrorists and extremists of the Russian Federation). The document gives the US president the right to impose duties of up to 100% on the goods of the five largest buyers of Russian energy carriers, as well as duties of up to 5000% on goods from Russia. The law gives the right to directly impose sanctions against Russian officials, banks and ships of the “shadow fleet”.
