The Russian divisions of Nestle and Auchan said that they will continue to operate in Russia in full. The companies have issued similar official announcements regarding the interim asset management order.
"This action is not a nationalization of the company or a change of ownership," the Russian president said in a statement. Both entities assured customers, partners and employees of their “intent to unconditionally fulfill all obligations.” They also expressed confidence that cooperation with L.E.V. Management will contribute to the further development of the company and increase its efficiency.
On September 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin transferred the Russian assets of Nestle, FM Logistic, Lemana Pro and Auchan to the temporary management of L.E.V. Management. The decision was made based on the fact that the assets belonged to companies from an unfriendly country. The new manager announced plans to preserve the trading networks “Auchan” and “Lemana missile defense”, as well as to ensure their uninterrupted operation.
