Finnish airline Finnair from October 25 will start operating daily flights from Helsinki to Melbourne in Australia overflying Russian airspace. The total flight duration will be about 24 hours, reports Simple Flying.
The flights will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft. During each flight, there is an intermediate landing in Bangkok for refueling. In addition, Finnair plans to sell tickets for the Bangkok-Melbourne flight and back.
Russia closed its airspace to European airlines in February 2022. The decision was a response to the closure of EU airspace for Russian airlines.
